Running for President 40 Years Ago

This is by no means the most horrible election in United States history. In 1968 the United States was bogged down in an even more deadly war, and the candidate that no doubt would have won the election was assassinated. If there was anything funny about that election, it was a third-party candidate named Pat Paulsen:

Pat Paulsen passed away in 1997, after several unsuccessful bids for the White House. Now his son is bringing the "Paulsen for President" dream back to life for the 2012 campaign:

He might be good for giving Conservatives and alternative to Sarah Palin, when she gets to run against Obama without the encumberance of John McCain.
